Who We Are
SurgicalLegal was founded by board-certified physicians with firsthand experience navigating the challenges of running a busy medical practice while meeting the complex requirements of California’s Medical Evaluator (QME/AME) system.
Our mission is to provide services to facilitate medicolegal practices for surgeons in California. We recognize that most clinical practices lack the capacity to manage the administrative demands and timelines required to participate effectively in the medicolegal system.
At the same time, California has a growing need for qualified, board-certified medical experts to help resolve disputes between sick or injured workers and employers, including complex cases involving the Department of Labor, Subsequent Injury Benefits Trust Fund (SIBTF), and multi-system injuries.
With deep expertise in the QME/AME process and a physician-led team, SurgicalLegal ensures that specialists are equipped and supported to provide objective, defensible evaluations that meet the state’s highest standards.
